Demand forecasting, quality inspection, maintenance and scheduling on your ERP and MES data, in production in 3 to 8 weeks.
The short answer
Part of our AI consulting work across the UK.
UK manufacturing
Make UK's 2026 report found that only about 2% of UK manufacturers have AI widely embedded across their operations. Just under 40% use it in some departments, and nearly one in five have not adopted it at all. Most use is in back-office work such as HR, finance and administration; on the factory side, only 11% use AI in production, 7% in supply chain and 6% in quality control.
The main barrier is skills. More than half of manufacturers say a shortage of skills stops them moving from small trials to full use. That is the gap an outside team fills: engineers who have built these systems before and can get one running on your data without you hiring a data science team first.
Government support exists too. The Made Smarter programme helps SMEs adopt digital technology, and a focused first AI project fits well alongside it.

Use cases
Six places where AI pays back in manufacturing. We start with the one that matters most to you.
Forecasts that account for seasonality, promotions and order history, linked to safety stock so you hold less without running out.
Computer vision that spots defects on the line from camera images, flagging parts for a person to check.
Models on machine and sensor data that warn before a failure, so maintenance is planned instead of reactive.
Scheduling support that balances orders, capacity and changeovers, so planners spend less time in spreadsheets.
Automation that reads drawings, specs and RFQs, drafts quotes and pulls data from supplier documents.
One view of suppliers, lead times and risks across ERP and supply chain systems, with alerts when something slips.
How we work
Agility has no UK office. Our senior engineers are based in Ahmedabad, India, and work with UK manufacturers remotely, holding calls and demos in the UK morning and early afternoon. Each project has a fixed scope and price agreed before the build, weekly demos and full access to the code.
We work with the systems plants already run, including SAP ERP, Siemens MES and Oracle SCM, and can deploy in your cloud or on site where data must stay inside the factory. See also our pages on AI development cost and supply chain AI consulting.

Process
From first call to production, with the scope and price fixed before the build.
A free 30-minute call about the problem on the plant floor, the data you have and what success looks like.
A written proposal with a fixed scope, milestones and price, agreed before any build starts.
Senior engineers build in short cycles on your data, with weekly demos and full access to the code.
Production deployment in your cloud or on site, with documentation and training for your team.
Proof
Demand forecasting and inventory
We built a machine learning demand forecasting engine for a manufacturer, unifying SAP ERP, Siemens MES and Oracle SCM data. It reached 88% prediction accuracy in production and let planners manage inventory ahead of demand instead of reacting to stockouts.

FAQ
Look for a consultancy that has put manufacturing models into production, not only pilots, and can show results on real plant data. Agility builds AI for manufacturers remotely from India, with no UK office. Our demand forecasting engine for a manufacturer reached 88% prediction accuracy in production on unified SAP ERP, Siemens MES and Oracle SCM data, and we deliver a first use case in 3 to 8 weeks.
Start with the problem, not the technology: forecast error, scrap, unplanned downtime or manual planning. Then ask each consultant three things: have they shipped a system like this into production, who will write the code, and will they fix the scope and price before the build. Ask to see a case study with real figures.
Demand forecasting and inventory optimisation usually pay back fastest, because they cut stockouts and free working capital. Visual quality inspection, predictive maintenance and production scheduling come next. Automating quotes, RFQs and reporting is a quick win for smaller manufacturers because it removes hours of manual work every week.
No. Most manufacturers have useful data spread across ERP, MES, spreadsheets and machine logs. The first part of every project is joining and cleaning the data needed for one use case. We do that work ourselves rather than asking you to fix your data first.
A focused first use case typically reaches production in 3 to 8 weeks: one to two weeks to agree scope and access data, then short build cycles with weekly demos. Larger programmes, such as plant-wide data platforms, are delivered in phases so value arrives early.
Yes. We integrate with ERP, MES, SCADA historians and supply chain systems through their APIs or data exports, and we can deploy in your cloud, private cloud or on-premises if data must stay on site.
No. Our senior engineers are based in Ahmedabad, India, and work with UK manufacturers remotely through video calls, weekly demos and shared code, overlapping with the UK morning and early afternoon. Data handling follows UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
It depends on scope. A forecasting model or quote automation costs far less than a plant-wide platform. Our AI development cost and pricing pages set out typical ranges, and every engagement has a fixed scope and price agreed before the build begins.
